Glad to meet you!
I took a workshop with David Kassan and Steve, my husband, made the first version of the Parallel Palette. David introduced me to Max Ginsburg, and Max offered to teach me.
Photo was taken in Max’s studio.
While admiring the Zorn exhibit with David, we happened to see Nelson Shanks who kindly gave us his view regarding some of the paintings. I was so overwhelmed I honestly cannot say I remembered a thing he said!
Life is all about timing.
My very special week with Max started with Max picking me up at my hotel, then painting all day in his studio. After a short break, I attended his class at the Arts Student League in the evening.
Everett Kinstler (right) was amusing and interesting and often lectured at the Portrait Society.. He is one of the many artists who has taught at this event, and he will be dearly missed.
.....with David Leffel at the Salmagundi Art Club. I have had the privilege to watch Daivd paint and teach. He is as talented and he is delightful and the man does not forget names!
.This was the first of many workshops I attended with Daniel Gerhartz. This artist is kind and is an excellent instructor as well as a Master artist.
.While sitting with Max and David at the Portrait Society, I had the pleasure of meeting Michael De Priore. Michael painted Richard Ormond’s family portrait, in London, in John Singer Sagent’s studio. And so the real story begins...
(Michael Del Priore, Kathleen Ericson, and Richard Ormond)
Michael offered to become my mentor and I am blessed to have had him in my life. I saw Michael every few months for over five years.
This image was taken at his home. The painting in the background was painted by Michael, and the subject is his beautiful wife.
Michael passed away in 2020 and words cannot describe my sadness and gratefulness for having had him in my life..
All these artists have taught me, and have encouraged me on my journey to becoming a professional artist.
I am both grateful and blessed by all their words of wisdom. Without them, I would never have the opportunities that have now come into my life.
